April/May 2006 in a nutshell

Well, the month started as well as it could ever be since Tara, her husband Alex and I flew to Las Vegas to see Depeche Mode! We stayed at Paris hotel and scored an amazing deal since Tara and Alex travel so much.

Here are some pics from the weekend:

This is Alex and Tara doing Jell-O shots before we leave to go out the second night we were there. We made about 50 shots before we left for Vegas and packed them in little travel coolers! hee hee deeeeeeelish!

Rock on!

The night was just getting started....

For some reason I can not get the rest of the pictures to load, so here is the link to them http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f174/seattlehil/Vegas/

Here Tara and I are in the front of the Hard Rock Hotel, just hours before the concert!

We were soooooo close to the stage! It was outside in the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel parking lot! It was about 78 degrees.

Via the link, you will see s pic that was taken with my cell phone. Normally, a flight back from Vegas to Seattle is 2 hours and 25 mins, well ours was 6 1/2 hours. Still, today, I am not totally sure why it took so long but here is what happened:
1. We sat on the tarmac for a while because our flight was very heavy due to two hockey teams flying with us and all their gear
2. We ended up going back to the gate to re-fuel.
3. We sat again on the tarmac because we were infiltrated by a dust storm and had to wait for it to pass.
4. We finally took off. All this time the pilot had not been giving us too much info at all, like when we would arrive in Seattle, etc...
5. About 2 hours into the flight I noticed we started to descend. The pilot came on the speaker to notify us that we had to land in Portland to re-fuel. ugh!
6. We re-fuel and head for Seattle, again, the pilot not giving us a time as to when we would land.
7. About 25 mins later we start to descend into Seattle and FINALLY land only for the pilot to get on the speaker again to tell us to remain in our seats when we land because the Port of Seattle needed to board the plane and remove a "person of interest" first.
8. Oy vey, so, the police boarded and removed a young middle-Eastern looking woman from the plane. She walked down the isle quietly and looked down the entire time. The whole plane was silent.
9. Once she passed our row, the man sitting next to me said that she was in front of him at the airport and bought a one way ticket to Seattle in cash. Red flag?

So we made it home, in one piece, whew.

So what I want to know is if the woman was a "person of interest" why the heck did they let her on the plane in the first place???? Obviously our government is on top of it.

The really sad thing is that she may be perfectly innocent and if you or I were the ones buying one-way tix to anywhere in cash, no one would think a thing of it.
